Production Planning Manager – Honiton

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Production Planning Manager to lead our planning function at a well‑established manufacturing site in Honiton. Reporting to senior leadership, you will own end‑to‑end production planning, drive schedule efficiency and support continuous improvement across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Translate demand and capacity data into realistic production plans.
• Manage and optimise MRP/ERP planning and scheduling systems.
• Monitor capacity, identify bottlenecks and implement output improvements.
• Collaborate with production, procurement and stores to ensure alignment.
• Analyse Bills of Materials to inform make‑vs‑buy decisions.
• Support cost estimation and quoting through material and labour analysis.
• Lead, coach and develop the production planning team.
• Drive performance improvements using KPI tracking and data‑led decision making.
• Maintain data accuracy across all planning tools and processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor a small team.
• Strong understanding of capacity planning, demand forecasting and MRP concepts.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Effective communication across multiple departments.
• Proactive, well‑organised and results‑focused.
