Project Cut Over Lead

About the role

The Project Cut Over Lead will join the SuccessFactors transformation programme at Tarmac, a leading UK construction materials provider. Working on a fixed‑term contract, you will be responsible for orchestrating the transition from project delivery to business‑as‑usual, ensuring a smooth, risk‑controlled cut‑over across data, technical and business workstreams.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the overall cut‑over strategy and detailed project plans for all major streams.
• Develop comprehensive run‑books, checklists and decision logs to guide cut‑over execution.
• Map dependencies, identify critical‑path activities and maintain a RAID log to mitigate risks.
• Establish a governance framework with clear escalation routes and provide command‑and‑control during entry, trial and exit phases.
• Build and maintain rollback and contingency plans, delivering evidence‑based Go/No‑Go recommendations.
• Coordinate with BAU and Release Management to ensure environment readiness and validate readiness criteria.
• Communicate regularly with senior stakeholders, allocate resources during cut‑over windows and work with business continuity teams to minimise disruption.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading complex IT or business transformation cut‑overs.
• Strong project‑management background (Prince2, PMP, Agile or equivalent).
• Ability to stay calm under pressure, think structurally and lead multidisciplinary teams through high‑stakes transitions.
