Project Engineer – Electrical, Control & Instrumentation

About the role

We are seeking an EC&I Project Engineer to join a growing team delivering critical gas and energy infrastructure projects across the UK. Working in a multidisciplinary environment, you will support projects from concept and design through construction, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of EC&I projects throughout the full lifecycle.
• Coordinate engineering activities across electrical, control and instrumentation disciplines.
• Review technical documentation, specifications and design deliverables.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, risk management and progress reporting.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and other risk assessment workshops.
• Support commissioning, start‑up and handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, Automation or a related discipline.
• Experience in gas, energy, utilities, oil & gas, chemical or related process industries.
• Understanding of process safety principles and safety‑critical environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• EC&I systems knowledge.
• Industrial automation expertise.
• Familiarity with HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA risk assessment methods.
