Property Accountant – Practice to Industry Role

About the role

We are seeking a newly qualified ACA/ACCA accountant to transition from practice to industry, joining a large multi‑site property business operating across the UK and Europe. The role offers exposure to both management and financial accounting within a complex portfolio of owned and leased sites.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts for a portfolio of UK and European sites
• Supporting the production of statutory accounts and year‑end reporting
• Accounting for owned and leased properties, including rent, service charge, lease costs and related balance‑sheet items
• Preparing balance‑sheet reconciliations, journals and month‑end reporting packs
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis across the property portfolio
• Working closely with operational, property and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assisting with audit requirements and responding to external auditor queries
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and efficiencies

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally trained within a Top 10, mid‑tier or Big Four practice
• Newly qualified or up to 1–2 years post‑qualified experience
• Strong grounding in audit, accounts preparation and financial reporting
• Desire to build a long‑term career in a commercial, fast‑paced industry environment
• Confident communicator able to work with stakeholders outside finance
• Strong analytical approach
• Experience of property, multi‑site, lease accounting or retail/hospitality is beneficial but not essential
