Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Team (Dartford)

About the role

Brandon James Ltd, a specialist fencing contractor, is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Dartford. You will manage the commercial side of a diverse portfolio of perimeter security and fencing projects for schools, data centres, commercial developments and public sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of multiple fencing and security projects.
• Prepare and submit monthly payment applications and chase client payments.
• Identify, price and recover project variations.
• Produce monthly cost and work‑in‑progress reports.
• Assist with forecasting, cash‑flow management and contract administration (JCT).
• Maintain subcontractor accounts and support profitability targets.
• Attend project and client meetings and liaise with project managers and site teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ quantity surveying experience.
• Background working for a main contractor or subcontractor.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and full commercial lifecycle.
• Excellent variation management and payment recovery abilities.
• Proactive, organised and detail‑oriented.
• Experience in fencing, perimeter security, groundworks or related specialist subcontracting is a plus.
