Regional HR Officer – Northern Ireland & Dublin

About the role

Smyths Toys is seeking a Regional HR Officer to support its stores in Northern Ireland and Dublin. You will act as a trusted HR partner, providing advice, ensuring compliance and helping managers build high‑performing teams in a fast‑moving retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with line managers to deliver legally compliant HR advice and support.
• Manage and optimise HR systems, maintain data accuracy and provide actionable insights.
• Conduct HR audits, oversee absence management and ensure store compliance.
• Lead complex employee‑relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance meetings.
• Support employee lifecycle processes such as maternity leave and flexible working requests.
• Partner with recruitment teams to assist with hiring across all functions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for managers and employees in the region.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Officer or Adviser, preferably in a retail setting.
• Strong knowledge of employee‑relations and HR compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage large case loads.
• Self‑starter with a tenacious, delivery‑focused attitude.
• Full driving licence, own car and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
