Remote Backend Developer – Contract (10‑40 hrs/week)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Backend Developer on a contract basis to design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs. The role offers flexible hours (10‑40 hrs/week) and focuses on reliability, security, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and performance.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, driving continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in backend development using modern programming languages.
• Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Deep understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.
