Roofing Estimator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Roofing Estimator to join our construction team in Eastbourne. You will prepare accurate estimates and competitive tenders for both pitched and flat roofing projects, supporting our heritage and historic building portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates, quotations and tender submissions for pitched and flat roofing works.
• Review drawings, specifications, schedules and site survey data.
• Carry out material take‑offs and labour calculations.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Attend site visits to verify project requirements.
• Price restoration, refurbishment, repair and maintenance works on heritage structures.
• Identify project risks, programme needs and value‑engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with contracts managers to ensure smooth hand‑over from tender to delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience estimating both pitched and flat roofing projects.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and modern roofing systems, materials and construction methods.
• Experience pricing refurbishment, restoration and maintenance, preferably in the heritage or conservation sector.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.
