Second Chef – Full‑time

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Second Chef to join our catering team at Otterbourne Hill, a vibrant care home near Winchester. Working 40 hours per week, you will help deliver high‑quality, nutritious meals for residents, staff and visitors, using fresh, locally sourced produce.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, supper and snack items in line with menu standards.
• Ensure all resident dietary requirements and restrictions are met.
• Support the Chef Manager with special events and menu planning.
• Carry out general catering duties such as washing up, serving and maintaining a clean kitchen.
• Follow relevant legislation, policies and food safety procedures.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality and Catering (or equivalent).
• Good communication skills and a friendly, supportive attitude towards older people.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and motivate colleagues.
• Interest in delivering exceptional food service in a care‑home environment.
