About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Bristol (BS7). The role involves working closely with teachers and students to enhance learning outcomes and foster a positive classroom environment. You can start immediately or from September, on a full‑time basis.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to secondary students.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
- Help students overcome barriers to learning and build confidence.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and pastoral teams to monitor and support progress.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
Required profile
- Experience working with young people in a school, youth, childcare or support setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, positive and adaptable approach.
- Confidence supporting students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
- Relevant education or support qualifications are desirable but not essential.
