About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a Year 2 pupil with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in a welcoming primary school in Aylesbury. The role starts in September 2026 and offers a full‑time, long‑term placement within a supportive inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver daily 1:1 support to the designated Year 2 pupil, focusing on emotional regulation and behaviour management.
- Implement tailored SEMH strategies in line with the school’s inclusion policy.
- Collaborate closely with the Inclusion Manager and classroom staff to monitor progress and adapt interventions.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil development and share insights with the teaching team.
- Participate in CPD sessions and professional development opportunities.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven behaviour‑management techniques.
- Empathetic, patient and proactive attitude towards supporting vulnerable children.
- Commitment to personal growth and contribution to an inclusive learning environment.
