SEN Tutor – In‑person tuition in Taunton

About the role
Quantum Scholars are seeking a caring and patient SEN Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one, in‑person tuition for children and young people in Taunton and surrounding areas. Sessions will take place in the learner’s home or a suitable community setting, focusing on personalised support for SEN, EBSA, ADHD and ASD.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 tuition tailored to each learner’s academic and emotional needs.
- Travel to pupils’ homes or community venues across Taunton.
- Plan and deliver engaging, interest‑led learning sessions.
- Use creative approaches to build confidence, routine and positive learning habits.
- Monitor progress and keep brief records of attendance and engagement.
- Collaborate professionally with parents, carers and relevant professionals.
Required profile
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
- Understanding of Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
- Calm, nurturing and flexible approach.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with learners who find education challenging.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and positive outcomes.
- Legal right to work in the UK and ability to travel locally.
