Senior Employee Relations Business Partner (12‑month contract)

About the role

Oliver James is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Business Partner on a 12‑month contract to lead the modernisation of the organisation's ER policy framework. Working hybrid from the North West London headquarters, you will ensure compliance with evolving UK employment legislation and support a broader HR transformation, including the rollout of SuccessFactors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive review and modernisation of all HR policies.
• Ensure policies comply with current employment law and upcoming regulatory updates.
• Establish and maintain robust document‑control and governance processes.
• Partner with external legal advisors on contracts and policy updates.
• Create and manage a centralised policy register with version control and review cycles.
• Provide expert guidance on complex employee‑relations matters.
• Align local policies with group‑wide standards and develop clear manager guidance.
• Support HR teams in consistent policy application and deliver progress dashboards to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong experience as an ER Business Partner or ER Specialist in a complex, unionised environment.
• Proven track record in HR policy development, review and implementation.
• Deep knowledge of UK employment law and ability to interpret legislative changes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, including senior leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
