Senior Housing Officer

About the role

Horizon Housing Association is seeking a Senior Housing Officer to lead the delivery of high‑quality housing services across central Scotland. You will oversee the Housing and Tenancy Sustainment Teams, ensuring tenant‑focused outcomes and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for Housing and Tenancy Sustainment Teams, covering tenancy management, income recovery, estate management and tenancy sustainment.
• Manage complex cases, support vulnerable tenants and implement early‑intervention strategies to sustain tenancies and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with the Housing and Communities Manager to drive service improvement, ensuring efficiency, evidence‑based practice and alignment with strategic priorities.
• Oversee arrears control, void management, anti‑social behaviour issues and promote tenant participation.

Required profile

• Minimum CIH Level 3 qualification or equivalent HNC‑level qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
• Strong understanding of housing management and a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Experience handling a wide range of housing issues, including arrears, voids, anti‑social behaviour and tenant engagement.
• Sound knowledge of housing legislation, Housing Benefit, Universal Credit and choice‑based lettings.
