Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Oracle Cloud & Exadata

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with deep, hands‑on expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Exadata. The role combines complex infrastructure design with day‑to‑day BAU support for highly available, mission‑critical database environments, working on‑site in Blackpool or Newcastle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert BAU operational support and act as the escalation point for major service incidents.
• Configure, support and maintain Oracle Base Database and Exadata environments.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
• Lead data migration projects and perform migration testing across public cloud platforms.
• Implement security controls, including network segregation and data‑at‑rest and in‑transit encryption.
• Mentor and up‑skill the engineering team on OCI and Exadata best practices.

Required profile

• Recent (within 5 years) experience with OCI and Oracle Exadata.
• Strong background in Oracle RDBMS (versions 11.2‑23ai) on Linux/AIX.
• Proven experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, AFD, HANFS, TAF and Dataguard.
• Hands‑on knowledge of OEM, OCI DB Management and RMAN backup/recovery.
• Experience with data migration tools such as Datapump, GoldenGate and ZDM.
• Familiarity with public cloud environments (OCI, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
