Senior Maintenance Engineer – Day Shift

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is looking for a Senior Maintenance Engineer to join the Facilities team at its Norwich plant. The role operates on a day‑shift basis and supports the production of high‑performance sports cars such as the Emira and Evija.

Key responsibilities

• Keep production managers informed of maintenance activities and job progress.
• Check, calibrate and maintain key production and metrology equipment to meet audit requirements.
• Undertake minor electrical and compressed‑air installations and improvements.
• Carry out routine servicing, breakdown response and repair of production equipment.
• Plan larger maintenance tasks, produce method statements and risk assessments, and manage work permits.
• Maintain asset registers, spare‑part stock and Line Replacement Units.
• Support and control external contractors, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.

Required profile

• GCSEs in maths, science, English and design & technology.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
• Proven experience in a maintenance role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently, stay calm in emergencies and follow health‑and‑safety legislation.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Electrical installations (minor).
• Compressed‑air system installation and maintenance.
• Calibration of production and metrology equipment.
