Senior Quantity Surveyor – Nuclear Decommissioning

About the role

Gold Group Ltd is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its specialist consultancy team supporting high‑profile nuclear decommissioning programmes in the UK. Working from the Warrington or Cumbria office, you will lead commercial activities on complex, multi‑year projects that are critical to the nation’s nuclear management strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Full‑lifecycle commercial management of nuclear decommissioning and infrastructure projects.
• Contract administration under NEC, FIDIC or ICE forms of contract.
• Preparation and management of cost plans, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Risk management, change control and early‑warning processes.
• Engagement with nuclear regulators and compliance frameworks.
• Reporting commercial performance to senior stakeholders and clients.
• Supporting dispute resolution and contractual claims management.
• Mentoring junior commercial staff.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• MRICS qualification preferred or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in nuclear new‑build, nuclear decommissioning or other highly regulated infrastructure sectors.
• Proven ability to manage high‑value, complex, multi‑year programmes.
• UK National with eligibility for Security Clearance (SC level).
• Willingness to work onsite in Warrington or Cumbria.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience with FIDIC contracts.
• Familiarity with ICE contract forms.
• Cost planning and valuation expertise.
• Risk and change‑control management.
