Site Lead – M&E Site Manager for High‑Voltage Transmission

About the role

We are seeking an experienced M&E Site Manager to lead mechanical and electrical activities on high‑voltage electricity transmission projects. The role is based on National Grid substations and focuses on delivering projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day M&E site activities on transmission and substation projects.
• Ensure compliance with National Grid procedures and site safety regulations.
• Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, quality, and HSE performance.
• Deliver works in line with NEC contracts and construction methodologies.
• Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• NG Competent Person NSI 6 & 8 Full.
• Previous experience in the Electricity Transmission industry.
• Competent working in substations from 66kV to 400kV.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and site management.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and HSE legislation.
• 3‑Day First Aid qualification.
• Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• IT literate.
• Authorisation to National Grid TP137, including impressed voltage awareness.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
• CITB / SMSTS / NEBOSH / IOSH Temporary Works Supervisor qualification.
• HSG47 or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of National Grid transmission procedures.
• National Grid Person certification.
• Manual Handling certification.
