Site Operations Lead

About the role

We are seeking a Site Operations Lead to drive the growth and efficiency of our East Lancashire manufacturing site. Reporting to senior leadership, you will build high‑performing teams, embed robust processes and ensure safety while scaling production.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, onboard and train new staff, creating structured development plans.
• Coach supervisors and team leaders, establishing clear career pathways.
• Design, document and implement SOPs to standardise operations.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
• Define KPIs and maintain performance dashboards to monitor output.
• Translate growth targets into staffing, capacity and resource plans.
• Manage organisational change, integrating new systems without disrupting production.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks as volumes increase.
• Champion safety by updating risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Report operational performance, risks and improvement initiatives to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading teams through rapid growth or change in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong people‑development skills with a track record of coaching and mentoring.
• Hands‑on experience creating SOPs, KPIs and continuous‑improvement frameworks.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast‑moving settings and building processes from scratch.
• Excellent communication across shop‑floor staff to senior executives.
