Software Engineer - Platform Engineering (UK)

About the role

SailPoint is looking for a Software Engineer for its UK Platform Engineering team, which designs, builds and runs core services for the Identity Security Cloud. You will work remotely but must interview in person, and must hold permanent UK residency (British passport, settled status or ILR).

In a typical day you write high-performance Golang code, build full-stack features with Angular on the frontend, and implement microservices deployed on AWS, collaborating with data scientists on AI-driven features and optimising cloud architectures for low-millisecond latency.

Key responsibilities

• Write Golang code and build full-stack features with Angular
• Implement resilient microservices on AWS and optimise distributed cloud architectures
• Partner with data scientists on AI-driven features and integrate AI features into policy decision workflows
• Follow the 30-day, 60-day and 6-month roadmap: onboarding, first Golang PR, first microservice feature, independent full-stack features, and eventually leading technical design for high-throughput microservices
• Join the 24x7 on-call rotation (about one week in twenty) and improve CI/CD pipelines

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 2+ years of professional software development experience
• Permanent UK residency (passport, settled status or ILR)
• Ability to take part in a scheduled 24x7 on-call rotation

Required skills

• Golang for scalable microservices and SaaS solutions
• Angular or modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
• Automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) and debugging
• AWS and distributed data stores such as DynamoDB, Aurora or Snowflake
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CloudBees
• Comfort using AI development tools (Cursor, Claude Code, PyTorch, LLMs via Bedrock or VertexAI) as part of daily work
