Software Engineering Manager

About the role

Lead a high‑performing engineering team driving ENSEK's transformation from a monolith to a modern, domain‑driven, product‑led organisation. Combine people leadership with technical insight to deliver scalable, cloud‑native solutions that support the global energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and high standards.
• Own sprint planning, backlog prioritisation and delivery in partnership with Product.
• Champion best‑in‑class design, testing, code review and CI/CD practices.
• Shape architectural decisions and partner with architects and SRE to build secure, observable systems.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, UX, Data and SRE to define clear acceptance criteria and ensure smooth releases.
• Maintain operational excellence through on‑call readiness, post‑incident reviews, and robust monitoring.

Required profile

• 3+ years of engineering management experience with a proven track record of hiring and developing teams.
• Hands‑on experience delivering production microservices or cloud‑native applications, preferably on AWS.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across product, design, SRE and senior leadership.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, C#).
• Experience with public cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and quality engineering.
• Understanding of observability, monitoring, logging and incident response practices.
