Strategic Procurement Manager

About the role

The Strategic Procurement Manager will lead the procurement function for a family‑run groundworks specialist supporting the modular construction sector. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for securing materials, plant and supplier services that deliver best value, reliability and performance across projects nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a nationwide supplier network with strong regional coverage.
• Negotiate pricing, framework agreements and rebate structures for key categories.
• Implement robust procurement processes and improve delivery performance through forward planning and lead‑time management.
• Ensure sites receive the right materials at the right time, protecting programme delivery and commercial performance.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic sourcing initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in materials buying within groundworks, civils or infrastructure environments.
• Strong supplier negotiation skills and ability to manage complex contracts.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and influence senior stakeholders.
