Sustainable Finance Summer Internship 2027

About the role

Barclays is offering a 10-week Summer Internship in its Sustainable Finance team in London, based in Canary Wharf. The programme is aimed at students in their penultimate year of university and gives a broad overview of the business, with real projects, a mentor and a line manager. The team supports the bank's sustainable finance strategy, including its USD $1 trillion sustainable and transition finance target.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on live deals and client pitches, and advise banking teams on sustainable finance opportunities
• Work with cross-functional teams on business initiatives
• Take part in training and development programmes
• Identify opportunities, develop business cases and help launch new products and services
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and implement financial models and strategies that support decision making

Required profile

• Student in the penultimate year of a degree, in any discipline
• Ideally a keen interest in Sustainable Finance
• Resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, shown for example through extracurricular activities
• Visa sponsorship: Barclays accepts applications from candidates who need a UK work visa and will provide a skilled worker visa if eligible; others must have their own legal right to work in the UK from June 2027 to August 2027
