Systems Accountant (Finance Systems Transformation)

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Systems Accountant to join a large listed organisation undergoing a significant finance systems transformation programme. This role will play a key part in the implementation of a new integrated pay and bill platform, acting as the link between Finance, Operations and IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the implementation of a new pay and bill solution and associated system integrations.
• Gather and document business requirements, translating them into effective system solutions.
• Map and improve finance processes across current and future‑state environments.
• Assist with system testing, data migration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Analyse data flows, interfaces and reporting requirements.
• Ensure robust financial controls, reconciliations and governance processes are embedded within system designs.
• Support the migration from legacy systems and associated process improvements.
• Work closely with finance, operational and technology stakeholders to deliver successful business change initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong finance and accounting knowledge, including month‑end reporting, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Experience working with ERP, finance or operational systems.
• Good understanding of system integrations, data flows and process controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades or transformation projects.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience using business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI.
