Teaching Assistant – Full‑Time

About the role

This full‑time Teaching Assistant position supports a welcoming primary school in Hackney. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils engage with learning, build confidence and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils.
• Promote positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs.

Required profile

• GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Desirable: prior teaching assistant experience, knowledge of SEN and intervention support, or a degree in Education, Psychology or a related field.

Required skills

• Basic numeracy and literacy (GCSE level).
