Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑time)

About the role

Reeson Education is supporting a large mainstream secondary school in Shepperton, Surrey. The school seeks an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join the team from September on a full‑time basis, helping students with moderate learning difficulties and a range of social, emotional and mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide effective, one‑to‑one and group support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) across multiple year groups.
• Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and adapting resources to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting concerns to senior staff.
• Deliver targeted interventions for social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment and encourage pupil independence.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a secondary school setting is desirable, though recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.
• Excellent interpersonal and listening skills with a genuine commitment to supporting each pupil’s potential.
• Ability to work independently and creatively to meet diverse pupil needs.
• Understanding of basic SEND and mental health support strategies.
