Test Manager – Hybrid (3 days onsite)

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Test Manager to join a high‑profile technology transformation programme within a large‑scale retail environment. This fixed‑term, hybrid role (three days onsite) offers the chance to shape testing strategy and ensure delivery of business‑critical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the overall test strategy, test plans and testing approach.
• Establish test entry and exit criteria, governance and reporting mechanisms.
• Lead System Integration Testing (SIT) and coordinate support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Manage end‑to‑end testing across multiple integrated applications and technologies.
• Oversee defect management, test risks, dependencies and release readiness.
• Coordinate testing activities with internal teams, business stakeholders and third‑party suppliers.
• Provide regular reporting on testing progress, quality metrics, risks and issues.
• Validate complex retail transaction scenarios, including pricing, promotions and commercially sensitive processes.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Test Manager, Senior Test Lead or similar leadership role on complex technology programmes.
• Proven ability to develop test strategies, plans, governance, reporting and entry/exit criteria.
• Strong experience leading SIT and supporting UAT.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Experience testing retail, EPOS, transactional or customer‑facing systems.

Required skills

• JIRA or similar test and defect management tools.
