Tool Hire Manager

About the role

The Tool Hire Manager will lead the Hire team at the Kensal Green branch, driving sales performance and integrating Hire services across the wider Travis Perkins store. This fast‑paced, customer‑focused position is ideal for a sales‑driven leader who enjoys developing teams and exceeding targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sales action plan that surpasses budget targets.
• Coach and train branch staff on tool‑hire products and services.
• Maintain equipment safety and readiness, ensuring all tools are in optimal condition.
• Manage stock levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the Hire team on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Provide expert customer service, offering solutions and upselling where appropriate.
• Communicate daily updates through toolbox talks and ensure effective information flow.

Required profile

• Previous experience in tool hire, plant hire, or a related leadership role (sales or customer service background also considered).
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team.
• Safety‑focused mindset, ensuring equipment and work environments are secure.
• Proactive attitude in a fast‑moving environment, always seeking improvements.
