Tower Crane Technician

About the role

Join BYLOR, the joint venture of Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke, to support the massive civil engineering works at Hinkley Point C. As a Tower Crane Technician you will ensure that tower cranes operate safely and efficiently on one of the UK’s most ambitious construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment sustaining, calibration and maintenance to keep cranes at optimum performance.
• Carry out planned maintenance on all plant and equipment, adhering to company standards.
• Commission, erect, dismantle and start‑up tower cranes, ensuring proper qualification and evaluation.
• Maintain records and follow technical procedures for all maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Ability to read manuals, measuring instruments and electrical/electronic schematic diagrams.
• Strong PLC troubleshooting skills and experience with complex equipment analysis and repair.
• Capability to lead or direct a small technical team.
• Practical understanding of equipment development projects and a solid work ethic.
