Urgent Care Coordinator – Out of Hours (Chippenham)

About the role

The Urgent Care Coordinator provides 24/7 operational support for our Integrated Urgent Care service in Chippenham. Working out‑of‑hours, you will act as the primary contact for clinicians, ambulance services and NHS 111, ensuring seamless patient flow and resource utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the responsive point of contact for medical, clinical and healthcare professionals during out‑of‑hours periods.
• Coordinate shift schedules for the Single Point of Access (SPA) and the Urgent Care service.
• Plan and allocate staff and resources to meet demand across weekdays, weekends, overnights and bank holidays.
• Assist clinicians in accessing community health teams and other support services.
• Supervise operational staff and ensure compliance with service standards.

Required profile

• Good standard of general education.
• Previous experience in a similar coordination or operational role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise workload.
• Caring and empathetic nature towards patients and staff.
