Vice President, EMEA Legal Entity Controller

About the role

BNY is seeking a Vice President to lead the EMEA Legal Entity Controller function for Pershing Securities Limited and Pershing Securities International Limited. Based in Manchester, you will oversee monthly and annual financial reporting, ensure compliance with UK FRS and US GAAP, and drive automation and data quality initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the control function for two Pershing legal entities, coordinating monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review annual financial statements, liaise with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, software capitalisation, owner attestations and impairment reviews.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and attestations.
• Manage and support off‑site accounting teams, providing guidance and resolving issues.
• Collaborate with Treasury, regulatory reporting, and disaster‑recovery teams.
• Execute ad‑hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with deep knowledge of revenue, accounts receivable and fixed‑asset processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• Professional certification (CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• 8‑10 years of progressive accounting/controllership experience in financial services or regulated environments.
• Proven experience preparing financial statements and working with external auditors.
• Experience with Oracle and BlackLine preferred.
• Hands‑on involvement in automation, data‑quality improvement and close‑process acceleration.
