Warehouse Operative – Zero‑Hour Contract

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Warehouse Operative to join our fast‑moving warehouse on a zero‑hour (bank) basis. You will play a vital part in ensuring that every customer order is picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time, supporting our next‑day delivery promise.

Key responsibilities

• Pick, scan and label orders for dispatch with a high degree of accuracy.
• Sort and allocate items to the correct delivery lanes.
• Prepare pallet and parcel orders for collection and assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely.
• Support delivery drivers with van loading and route preparation.
• Maintain well‑stocked picking areas through regular replenishment.
• Help with goods‑in, stock checks and booking deliveries when required.
• Uphold housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
• Work towards and meet picking and productivity KPIs.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, target‑driven setting.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
• Flexibility, reliability and the capacity to adapt to changing priorities.
• Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.

Required skills

• Basic IT proficiency and confidence using warehouse systems.
• Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet trucks (desirable).
