Workshop Diagnostic & Repair Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Workshop Diagnostic & Repair Engineer to join our Aylesbury team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing advanced laboratory equipment, while also providing internal IT support to office and field staff.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults on laboratory instruments using diagnostic software and technical processes.
• Manage workshop investigations, maintain accurate service records and document repairs in the CRM system.
• Provide remote technical support to customers via phone and email, and assist field engineers across the UK.
• Occasionally accompany Field Service Engineers to customer sites in Oxford, Cambridge and London.
• Deliver day‑to‑day IT support for Windows 11, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory, including password resets and user access issues.
• Assist with onboarding/off‑boarding, equipment setup and IT asset tracking.

Required profile

• Scientific or medical background with experience in a laboratory, life‑sciences or biotechnology environment.
• Proven track record of diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing hardware and software faults.
• Previous IT support experience is essential.
• Full UK driving licence and a practical, detail‑focused approach.
