Communications Officer

About the role

Join one of Scotland’s leading housing and property‑management organisations as a Communications Officer. You will help shape the narrative of how we improve homes and lives, working within a fast‑paced, award‑winning team that balances proactive campaigns with reactive media handling.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to media enquiries and support the handling of press issues.
• Write engaging long‑form content such as annual reports, press releases, statements and briefings.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors and key stakeholders.
• Identify and deliver proactive media opportunities that showcase community impact.
• Support the creation of digital content for web, social media and video platforms.

Required profile

• Excellent written communication skills with a proven track record of producing clear, accurate content.
• Experience working in a press office, media environment or similar communications role.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and exercise sound judgement on sensitive issues.
• Willingness to travel to group offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh or Dumfries & Galloway as needed.
