About the role
The NHS Orkney Community Nursing Team is looking for a motivated Registered Nurse to deliver high‑quality care to residents on the Mainland and, when required, the surrounding islands. You will join a supportive primary‑care environment, working autonomously while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, develop, implement and evaluate care plans for individuals and families.
- Work closely with the Senior Community Nurse to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Provide clinical care in both mainland and island settings as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate observations effectively.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse with full UK driving licence and access to transport.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider primary‑care team.
- Excellent communication and observational skills.
- Residency in the UK is a condition of employment.

- Permanent full‑time position (36 hours per week) based at The Balfour.
- Band 5 NHS Scotland salary, higher than comparable salaries in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
