Cover Teacher (QTS) – Manchester Alternative Provision

About the role
We are seeking a Cover Teacher (qualified with QTS or highly experienced without QTS) to join a small Alternative Provision in central Manchester. The role involves delivering focused lessons to pupils at risk of exclusion, typically for short stays of 30‑40 days before they return to mainstream education.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons to up to eight pupils with challenging behaviour, SEMH and SEND needs.
- Maintain a firm but fair classroom environment.
- Support pupils during their short‑term placement and monitor progress.
- Collaborate with senior leadership team to ensure consistent pastoral care.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher with QTS or an unqualified teacher with extensive experience.
- Proven experience in a school setting; experience in a PRU or Alternative Provision is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to work with pupils displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEND needs.
- Commitment to a firm yet supportive approach.
