Design Engineer – Aviation Tooling & Ground Support

About the role

STAP Industries is seeking a Design Engineer to join its on‑site team in Cowbridge, United Kingdom. You will develop, analyse, and implement technical designs for aviation tooling and ground support equipment, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver customised solutions for major aircraft manufacturers.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate product designs.
• Apply engineering principles to ensure functionality, quality, and compliance with aviation standards.
• Support the manufacturing process by providing design guidance and troubleshooting.
• Participate in client‑specific customisation projects and ensure timely delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in design engineering, preferably within aviation tooling or ground support equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) tools and software.
