Driver – Logistics & Patient Transport (NHS Scotland)

About the role

This role involves driving vehicles to support NHS Scotland’s logistics services, including the transport of goods, supplies and patients. The successful candidate will contribute to safe and efficient delivery across health facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate designated vehicles to transport medical supplies, equipment and patients.
• Ensure compliance with road safety and NHS transport regulations.
• Maintain accurate vehicle logs and documentation.
• Adhere to the PVG Scheme requirements for child and/or adult safety.
• Support the logistics team in meeting service delivery targets.

Required profile

• Valid UK driving licence appropriate for the vehicle class.
• Current membership or eligibility for the PVG Scheme.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
• Commitment to NHS values of equality, diversity and patient safety.

Required skills

• Safe and defensive driving practices.
• Knowledge of road traffic legislation.
