Facilities (Soft Services) Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities (Soft Services) Manager to lead our soft services and facilities operations across the High Post site. Reporting to the Head of Maintenance & Facilities, you will ensure the site remains safe, compliant, efficient and ready for future challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage the Facilities team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
• Maintain all buildings, infrastructure and site services to safe and operational standards.
• Promote a positive Health, Safety and Environmental culture across all activities.
• Oversee statutory inspections, testing and maintenance, ensuring proper records.
• Develop sustainability initiatives to reduce energy use and waste.
• Manage facilities budgets, identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Oversee contractor performance, service agreements and Permit to Work compliance.
• Lead site physical security, including access control, visitor management, CCTV and guarding.
• Manage waste operations in line with environmental legislation.
• Oversee grounds maintenance, engineering stores and general site support services.
• Maintain infrastructure records, drawings, servicing schedules and statutory documentation.
• Monitor performance and implement improvement plans.
• Act as the primary point of contact for Facilities Management across the business.

Required profile

• Right to live and work in the UK.
• Relevant technical, apprenticeship or professional qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in facilities, site or building management.
• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Experience managing contractors and service providers.
• Experience delivering maintenance, repair and improvement projects within agreed budgets and timescales.
• Excellent planning, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to develop innovative solutions to operational challenges.
