GCP Platform Engineer – Senior Consultant / Manager (Hybrid)

About the role

We are supporting a global professional services organisation that is scaling its Cloud, Engineering, AI & Data capability. As a GCP Platform Engineer you will design, build and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms that enable data, analytics and AI workloads for enterprise clients across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Design and engineer GCP landing zones and platform solutions following best‑practice.
• Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform (or equivalent).
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and platform automation.
• Embed security, governance and cost optimisation into platform design.
• Support workload migrations and enable cloud‑native applications.
• Collaborate with architects, data engineers and client stakeholders.
• For manager level: lead platform workstreams, act as senior technical authority, coach junior engineers and shape platform strategy.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven experience building cloud platforms or landing zones.
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tooling.
• Solid understanding of networking, IAM, security controls and monitoring.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins or Cloud Build.
• Consulting mindset with excellent stakeholder communication.
