GP role in Brae Health Centre, Shetland

About the role

NHS Shetland is seeking a full‑time General Practitioner to join the Brae Health Centre on the North Mainland. You will provide primary medical care to a close‑knit community of around 2,400 residents, working alongside a multidisciplinary team in a non‑dispensing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive GP services, including consultations, chronic disease management and preventive care.
• Participate in regular MDT and palliative‑care meetings with practice nurses, ANPs, community link workers and pharmacy staff.
• Collaborate with the on‑site pharmacy and support staff to ensure seamless patient pathways.
• Contribute to the development of specialist interests and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with GMC registration and eligibility to practice as a GP.
• Enthusiastic, dynamic and committed to serving a remote community.
• Willingness to work full‑time (40 hours per week) in an on‑site setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EMIS PCS clinical system.
