About the role
We are seeking a senior leader to shape and execute our Asset Management Strategy across residential, commercial and operational property portfolios in Manchester. The role combines strategic oversight, investment planning and compliance management to maximise asset value and minimise risk.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive Asset Management Strategy aligned with organisational objectives.
- Lead the performance of residential, commercial and operational property portfolios, including acquisition, disposal, redevelopment and lifecycle planning.
- Oversee capital investment, planned maintenance and asset improvement programmes, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and building‑safety requirements (fire, gas, electrical, asbestos, water).
- Monitor asset performance, conduct condition assessments, manage risk and use data‑driven decision making.
- Manage revenue and capital budgets, business planning, investment appraisals and value‑for‑money initiatives.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on portfolio optimisation and long‑term asset planning.
- Lead, develop and motivate multidisciplinary teams, fostering a high‑performance culture.
- Build and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, residents, leaseholders, regulators and other stakeholders.
- Represent the organisation at senior meetings, committees and stakeholder forums.
- Develop performance indicators, governance frameworks and reporting mechanisms.
- Drive innovation, service transformation and organisational change within the asset management function.
Required profile
- Proven ability to develop and deliver an Asset Management Strategy.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a property or asset management environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing residential, commercial and operational property portfolios.
- Strong knowledge of statutory and regulatory compliance requirements for buildings.
- Experience overseeing capital investment, maintenance programmes and asset improvement projects.
- Ability to provide strategic advice to senior leadership and represent the organisation at high‑level forums.
