Health Visitor – Children & Families

About the role

The Health Visitor will join the Children and Families Health Visiting team at Castlemilk Health Centre, delivering evidence‑based, needs‑led care to children and young people. You will work collaboratively with health partners and other agencies to support families and promote the Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality health visiting assessments and interventions for a designated caseload.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations to coordinate family support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to case reviews and audits.
• Participate in continuous professional development and training opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with PVG Scheme and Disclosure Scotland requirements.

Required profile

• Registered Health Visitor or Registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Required skills

• IT skills – word processing, email and internet use.
