Indirect Tax Accountant – Global Tax Team

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Accountant to join our Global Tax team. Reporting to the Global Head of Indirect Tax, you will work across multiple jurisdictions, combining compliance, customs oversight, advisory work and strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review UK VAT returns, providing clear variance explanations.
• Serve as the primary contact for indirect tax queries from business units and tax authorities.
• Oversee UK import/export compliance, minimizing operational delays.
• Maintain and expand a global catalogue of indirect tax obligations and support onboarding of new regions.
• Lead the indirect tax components of the UK Senior Accounting Officer process and maintain global control documentation.
• Partner with Finance, Operations and Group Tax on major projects such as M&A, refinancing and restructurings.
• Identify opportunities to optimise tax reliefs, reduce exposure and feed risks into the Group Tax risk register.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting or tax qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Significant experience in indirect tax and customs, preferably in a multinational environment or top‑tier accounting firm.
• Strong knowledge of UK/EU VAT and US sales/use tax; exposure to other jurisdictions is a plus.
