About the role
This in‑house Legal Counsel position supports a major UK infrastructure and energy project operating in a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment. The role blends legal advice with real‑world delivery, requiring close collaboration with operational, engineering, compliance and leadership teams.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure regulatory compliance across all project activities.
- Provide legal guidance on health, safety and environmental matters.
- Support governance, assurance and incident response investigations.
- Engage with regulators and manage regulator relationships.
- Advise on construction and operational delivery interfaces.
Required profile
- Commercially pragmatic with the ability to balance legal risk and operational realities.
- Resilient and calm under pressure, comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- Strong stakeholder‑management capability.
- Experience engaging with regulators or advising on HS&E, operational compliance, investigations or regulatory governance.
