About the role
Locogen is seeking an entry‑level Office Assistant to join its Edinburgh office on a fixed‑term, 12‑month contract. Working 16‑20 hours per week across 4‑5 days, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, callers, and email correspondence, helping to maintain a welcoming and efficient workplace.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the front‑of‑house, greeting visitors, answering phones and directing calls.
- Manage mail activities and coordinate incoming/outgoing correspondence.
- Oversee the outsourced cleaning service, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and restocking kitchen, bathroom, printer and stationery supplies.
- Maintain the office contract register, arrange renewals and source cost‑effective contracts.
- Serve as Fire Warden and First Aider, conducting regular safety inspections and reporting hazards.
- Arrange travel and accommodation for new starters and group bookings.
- Support internal and external meetings, catering and event organisation.
- Assist the Executive Assistant and Planning Coordinator with company events and administrative tasks.
Required profile
- Enjoys a varied day‑to‑day workload with strong organisational abilities.
- Detail‑oriented and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and inclusive office environment.
- Comfortable interacting with staff, visitors and external partners.
- Entry‑level candidate able to report to the Executive Assistant and Planning Coordinator.
