Ruby on Rails UI Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Ruby on Rails UI Developer to join a government project. The role combines front‑end development with the UK Government Digital Service (GDS) standards, working on a hybrid schedule of two days on‑site in Swansea and three days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ruby on Rails front‑end components following GDS design guidelines.
• Collaborate with monitoring and incident‑response tools such as Kibana, Instana and PagerDuty.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Argo/Kargo and integrate with ServiceNow and Java services where required.
• Participate in code reviews, testing and documentation to ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Work closely with the client’s security team to maintain SC clearance compliance.

Required profile

• Minimal hands‑on Ruby experience but a strong overall development background.
• Familiarity with GDS standards and government‑sector delivery.
• Ability to obtain or retain Security Clearance (SC).
• Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (2 days on‑site, 3 days remote).
• Eligible for sponsorship if required.
