SHE Manager – Rail Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking an experienced SHE Manager to join our Safety, Health & Environmental team on the CP7 Wales & Western Framework. You will provide expert guidance and drive continuous improvement in safety, health and environmental performance across rail projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic advice on Safety, Health, Environment, Sustainability and Competence Assurance.
• Develop, implement and improve SHE best practices, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry standards and company policies.
• Promote a positive safety culture by collaborating with managers and teams.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for SHEQ matters, delivering action plans, audits, inspections, risk assessments and investigations.
• Identify training needs and deliver or coordinate SHE training programmes.
• Monitor, analyse and report SHE performance data to drive continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with regulators, local authorities, trade unions, clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support the development and consistent application of SHE policies and procedures across all projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in the rail sector, preferably with Network Rail projects.
• NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (essential).
• Desirable qualifications: NEBOSH or Level 6 Applied Occupational Health Diploma, Environmental Management Systems qualification, CMIOSH status or NVQ Level 4.
• Valid CSCS card and PTS competency.
• Strong knowledge of current safety, health and environmental legislation and its practical application.
