Software Engineer – Java & Python Development

About the role

Aspect Capital is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Software Development team in London. You will use technology to solve business problems in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and help deliver the firm’s ambitious growth plans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features across systems built with Java, Python and MATLAB, integrating with proprietary trading platforms and SaaS providers.
• Apply industry best practices such as test‑driven development, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring.
• Learn the specifics of the financial markets Aspect trades and the supporting business processes.
• Stay current with the wider tech community by attending conferences and meet‑ups.
• Make meaningful contributions from the first week on the job.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of professional software engineering experience, taking requirements from concept to production.
• Strong development background; Java experience preferred, with willingness to work in Python.
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
