Civil Engineering 3D Technician – London

About the role

Robert Bird Group, part of the Surbana Jurong network, is looking for a technically skilled Civil Engineering 3D Technician to deliver high‑quality CAD and digital solutions for a variety of infrastructure projects in London.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed drainage and external works drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Develop designs with MicroDrainage, Causeway Flow, or InfoDrainage.
• Create accurate 2D and 3D models for masterplans and detailed designs across sectors such as regeneration, aviation, and industrial infrastructure.
• Coordinate below‑ground design with structural, architectural, and environmental teams, including clash detection.
• Support technical submissions for planning and statutory approvals, ensuring compliance with UK standards, SuDS principles, and CDM Regulations 2015.
• Apply BIM protocols (BS EN ISO 19650) and use Navisworks, Infraworks, and other digital tools to enhance coordination.
• Follow RBG IMS quality processes (ISO 9001 & 14001) and maintain high standards of CAD output and document control.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering commercial drainage and external works designs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to quality, health and safety, and continuous improvement.
